Srinagar, April 28 (KNO): Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Wednesday appealed people of Kashmir to offer all mandatory prayers in their homes given the fast deteriorating Covid situation across the UT.
Talking exclusively to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Grand Mufti said that since the mortality rate has increased manifold with positive cases showing a steep rise, people should refrain from going to masjids and instead offer prayers at their homes. “Imam and two to five worshipers should pray in masjids, rest of the people should offer prayers at homes. This should be implemented by the respective Masjid Committees in their areas. The step will surely help prevent the Covid spread,” he said, adding that 30 days in 24 hours and over 3000 cases is something that is very serious. “It’s a serious situation in J&K UT. People should take all precautions and stay home,” he said—(KNO)
